Prefer a Marketing, Public Relations or Advertising major. Candidates should be creative, self-motivated and well connected on The University of Tampa campus. Familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, Photoshop, and other graphics computer applications is preferred. Experience with social media necessary. Student must be able to commit to the internship during both the Fall (’16) and Spring (’17) semester. Occasional night or weekend work required.


The intern will:

  • Create and implement a marketing and advertising plan
  • Demonstrate leadership skills through assignments, managing events, and observing staff
  • Learn the dynamics of a professional office setting by observation and participation in staff decision-making
  • Assess the effectiveness of marketing/advertising strategies
  • Learn how to collaborate with diverse populationsProjects:
  • Design and implement a marketing and advertising strategy for the Office of Career Services
  • Plan outreach/ programming such as tabling
  • Update and maintain Career Services social media sites
  • Investigate and implement means of communication with campus organizations to advertise programs and services
  • Collaborate with employer partners to secure incentive prizes for programs and servicesProjects:
  • Design and produce traditional marketing: flyers, banners, giveaways, and post cards
  • Create plasma screen slides to advertise career events
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of special events
  • Attend and participate in occasional staff meetings
  • Staff Career Services table at Admissions open house events
